To top it off her score, she added six more perfect 10s and became the youngest Olympic gold medalist. The Romanian gymnast did not only attract attention from everywhere and help Romania to establish itself on the map of the world. The sports icon came into the limelight after she scored an impossible number of points, thereby creating a legend and popularizing the sport of gymnastics throughout the globe. The sport changed the way people view female gymnasts. Such was her impact at the Olympics that an uneven bar contest is named for two of the moves after her, the toe-on as well as release. Both are, till date, rated at a high difficulty level. Apart from the Olympics, her performance was outstanding in the both World Championships (World Championships) as well as the European Championships.
